Empowering Safety Through Building Transformations

Outdated buildings pose risks to staff safety

THE TRAINING BRIEF

Outdated local government buildings no longer fit for purpose, posing safety risks to staff due to lack of maintenance and inadequate layout. Staff feels exposed and at risk of aggressive and antisocial behaviour from visitors.

Assessed, interviewed, and recommended effective improvements

THE TRAINING STRATEGY

We conducted a comprehensive on-site assessment, identifying layout risks and interviewed at-risk staff members. Provided multiple recommendations and options to address the issues, focusing on improving access and flow in the customer service area. The Specialist presented the findings and suggestions in a detailed report.

TRAINING OUTCOMES

Enhanced security measures ensure staff's safety and well-being

9 out of 10 recommendations were implemented, resulting in renovations and refurbishments. Staff now feel secure and protected with the installation of remote locking systems on external doors and a monitored duress alarm system. They have the ability to seek refuge from antisocial behaviour, enhancing their sense of safety.
