Strengthening Trust and Justice within the Organisation
THE TRAINING BRIEF
A local cafe faced a problem of theft involving money and products, with suspicions regarding the possible culprits. Darcy was brought in to conduct an investigation.
THE TRAINING STRATEGY
After consultation, surveillance cameras were installed to monitor the actions of the suspected staff member. Concrete evidence, including footage of the theft incidents, was obtained. They conducted interviews with all staff members, witnesses, and the alleged offenders. Based on the investigation findings, recommendations were provided. The case file was handed over to the New Zealand Police, leading to the guilty pleas and charges against the responsible individuals.
TRAINING OUTCOMES
By uncovering the two individuals responsible, innocent employees were relieved of suspicion and the pressure shifted onto the true offenders. Moreover, the discovery of theft serves as a breach of contract, which in this case enabled the organisation to take appropriate action, including the possibility of dismissal.
